Here’s some more headshots from an earlier session. Before on the left and after shot’s on the right. The before shots are straight out of the camera.

Recently I started photographing families for our Church Directory. Occasionally we had a family that couldn’t make it providing me an opportunity to play around with those willing to give me a few extra minutes. In the next few post’s I’ll share some of those images with you. I’ll even show some images straight out of the camera followed by one that gone through some post processing.

Lets start off with Gerald, by and far I received more comments and compliments on these images then any other. I think what caught so many people off guard was silliness and willingness to act out and let me capture it on film. Gerald was a Pastor and he still teaches, so in the Church setting we tend to see a man in a suite with a wonderful personality and love for people. But never with a hat on, waving his wife’s walking cane acting a bit silly like everyone else. Comments I heard were, “look at Gerald, he has his hat on backwards” or “check him how waiving that cane”, or “he looks like a mafia dude” followed by lots of laughter. I loved photographing Gerald, I also enjoyed talking with him, people of his generation has so much experience in life and so much to share with those around them. Don’t discount people of his generation, yes they’ve slowed down and sometimes we get a bit grumpy when we’re behind them on the highway, don’t let that stop you from learning from them.
