As many of you know we have a 22year old daughter that is Autistic, wears hearing aids and can’t speak. Quite a rare combination for a girl.
This weekend my wife Nancy had an opportunity to support the Autism cause by running a 5K. The weather was perfect and her friend and
co-work Shauna and her husband Todd joined us.
Thanks Steven and Shauna and all who attended for your support!
The newly redesigned Royals Stadium is beautiful!

Today I as I took Dani to her adult day hab I couldn’t help but take a few images from this years Santa Cali-Gon Days in downtown Independence MO.
Once I dropped her off I just walked across the street and starting shooting. The sun was at a perfect angle and had a wonderful warm color along with a beautiful blue sky.
Today’s photos are all about sun flair. Let me know what you think.
Enjoy!
Check them out, there now open for business:
Santa Cali-Gon Day’s, Independence MO

Dani rarely asks for anything. Her life is very simple, a visit to Quick Trip, some new books, the 5 days spent at Adult Day Hab and items that define her as a young women.
I can’t tell you how many times we’ve ventured off to Church or visited a friend she’s walked out of the house with so many bracelets and necklaces we’ve affectionately called her Jezebel. Our last outing we went to the hospital to visit a friend of hers that was very sick. Click on this link to read that story. We we’re so proud of her when she gave her friend 4 of her bracelets as a gift. BTW – Abby spent more then a month in the hospital, she is no out and getting stronger and can now walk again with the help of an adult. Please continue to pray for her.
Back to this story, on this particular day I promised her after she got off of work I’d take her to Walgreens to by nail polish. At first I think she was over whelmed at the many colors she could pick from as seen in the first photo. But as you can see she soon picked out 2 new colors.
Check out these wild colors, Ivy League (Lime Green) & Marine Scene (Aqua Blue).
She couldn’t be prouder!!!

Can’t you feel the excitement she’s feeling!

Mr Bean has to check out the new items Dani picked out. Great Choice in colors sweetheart!

Recently I teamed up with Jason Domingues to shoot the wedding of Bob & Jessica. I love this part of the wedding, nothing better then a fun couple with an amazing wedding party and a fabulous band like the Michael Beers band.
For entertainment they brought in the Michael Beers Band, take a minute and check out my earlier blog discussing him. These guys really rocked the place and provided top notch entertainment.
Here’s the first dance for the bride and groom.

Mom couldn’t be prouder!

Here’s a tradition mom’s pass down to their daughters. Mom’s telling a story about an apron she makes.

Jessica had no idea mom was going to do this.

Cast of characters, they had a whole lotta fun dancing.

The Michael Beers Band
Yesterday I spent the day photographing a wedding with Jason Domingues and we had a blast. Jason told me Michael Beers was playing and performing the MC for the reception and I said Michael who!
Sorry I don’t get out much, upon meeting Michael I found him to be someone you feel like you’ve always known, positive, fun and a kind of guy your always happy to run into. This is a band I’d love to work with again and you’ll find them to be loads of fun. Check out their website, you’ll see just how talented they are and what a hugh song list they have. This is one band you won’t regret hiring.
As Michael states on his web site, “We make a great Dance Partner”. Well said Michael!
The Band members are, Michael Beers, keyboard, Brian Norwood, guitar, Pat Adams, drums and Marcie Aubuchon, vocals.
I hope you enjoy the images from a night of great entertainment!!!

A few months ago Dani met Abby at a festival here in downtown Lees Summit. Abby’s mother is a co-worker of Nancy, so we were sad this week to hear Abby was in the hospital. She’s been sick with an unknown intestinal disorder and her mother thought it would cheer Abby up if Dani visited. Since the children’s hospital is familiar stomping grounds for us, Dani went happily, bearing gifts in hand and ready to share a little love.
We had sent three Hawaiian leis to Abby a couple of days before our visit, so Dani wore her favorite pink flower lei to the hospital.
She loaded her wrists with seven colorful bracelets and Nancy encouraged her to think about giving Abby a few when we arrived. Dani had also picked out a girly gift pack of pink nail polish with two lip glosses and proudly carried her gift bag on her arm through the hospital.
Please pray for Abby as the doctors attempt to diagnose her rare disorder. Nancy and I have been where this family is now and it’s a difficult road. The days are long and the nights even longer. There is nothing like watching your child battle an illness that puzzles the experts, but in the midst of it all our Lord is good. He never forgets even one of His children. He loves, protects, teaches, and guides them every inch of the way. He has not forgotten Abby or her family and has a special plan for them. Nancy, Dani, and I are proud to lift them to God during this time.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Abby’s wonderful grandmother, Mary. Just meeting Mary gave me the feeling I’ve know her for a long time, she welcomed us like we were family and was so warm and loving in the way she cared for Abby.

Abby was being silly with her favorite doll. She placed the dolls around her so it looked like it was hugging her.

Abby loves her dolls and constantly surround her.

Dani cried when the camera came out, such a strange reaction but we know it’s part of Autism. One she see’s the photos she beams with excitement and always dances. Dani gave Abby her present and Abby picked five of her favorite bracelets.

Time to slow down and rest. The girls said their good byes and we prayed with Abby and her grandma before leaving.

Here’s a few new items I’m offering for your upcoming wedding. These are nice clean designed cards to share with all your friends that your getting married.
What a great way to share the date, cards must be ordered in quantities of 25 and come with envelopes.
