I have a confession to make, I love salty snacks. Occasionally I will eat something sweet but slat snacks are my delight. Hardly a night goes by and I have some sort of treat before bed. It doesn't have to be much but it's become a habit of mine. The problem is much of what I like isn't healthy for you or your blood pressure for that matter. Salt, I could eat it every day. Unfortunately for me I have high blood pressure and must limit my intake. I found a clever way to do that trading salt for spices. But beware, many companies add a lot of sodium so check out the ingredients first. When you purchase your popcorn be sure to check out the expiration date. I had some in the pantry I forgot about that was two years past expiration,it was still edible just a little dry. The birds rather enjoyed it as we found better 50 in our garden eating it. To cook simple use a little canola oil or a mixture of oil and no salt butter. We have a old West Bend Stir Crazy pop corn maker that does a great job, once the popcorn is popped, simple add and spices you like. Some of our favorites are: Garlic and Pepper Slap Ya Moma (Hot) Cajun Parmesan Cayenne pepper Chilli pepper Add a little at first, then more if needed. Enjoy this tasteful low fat snack!
